wings dao roadmap
We’re on the road full speed ahead to amazing destinations!
Around March 2017 the plan is to release a stable beta and minimum viable product for projects to start raising funds, giving WINGS holders the opportunity to forecast these projects funding success and filter out spam and scams via the means of a community approved crowdfunding. In doing so Sparrow will usher in a new era of crowdfunding in some significant ways; it will be the first time in human history that a large, globally diverse group that is not tied to a regulatory body will conduct a decentralized due diligence and select which projects are worthy of being presented to backers. Furthermore it will be the first time when swarm-based forecast markets will be used to assess the potential value of a project.
To do this the WINGS tokens smart contracts will be presented to the community for adoption, and for this release WINGS tokens will live on the Ethereum (ETH) network. The foundation is also in talk with several exchanges to allow WINGS holders and interested parties to have a market in which they can trade.
If you have seen https://alpha.wings.ai, you certainly noticed that we have already developed a basic Web Wallet, and the project data storage on IPFS. Also in order to improve the user experience and add an additional layer of security for the users of WINGS, we have already integrated Airbitz single-sign on. We are continually improving the user experience based on feedback which can be emailed to support (at) wings.ai or sent via our telegram or slack channels.
We are currently working on the implementation of WINGS forecasting rewards mathematical model, new features for the forecasters, and in talks with several highly regarded security auditors.
During early April we expect seeing the first projects starting to use the WINGS platform in order to get evaluated by the community and begin their own crowdfunding.
While evaluation of project viability and it’s current value is very important and is done daily for businesses around the world, understanding the risk and probability of the team delivering the project milestones is another key factor. In the Crane Release the WINGS teams will enable the forecasters to evaluate the likelihood of a project achieving its milestones as written in the crowdfunding project proposal. It will include the additional capabilities for determining whether the milestone has been delivered and the funds can be released.
In parallel to the milestone forecasting capability it is expected that RSK will be launched to production by June 2016. During the summer, once we are certain that RSK system is stable, we will snapshot the balances on Etherum and re-instantiate WINGS on RSK. Projects which already have been launched on Ethereum will not be impacted. New projects will then be able to launch on RSK having direct Bitcoin support.
The Test Automation Framework is an additional layer of quality assurance, which performs automatic tests every time any change has been done to the code. These tests verify the smart contracts, the WINGS node code, the user interface and other functionalities. The results of the tests will be compared to previous ones, and a detailed report will be generated.
We want WINGS to grow, a lot. For that to happen we need to ensure that the platform can scale as needed. At the moment, it is unclear how the platform using the Ethereum or the RSK block-chain will handle thousands of requests and projects. For this reason, we will focus part of our R&D to ensure the system will have an adequate performance.
Besides the crowdfunding, due diligence and forecasting aspects of WINGS, the most exciting ability is enabling people from all around the world collaborating together and making decisions that are automatically enforced by smart contracts, removing the need for inefficient corporate hierarchies, paper contracts and the rest of things we dislike at large corporations.
With the Nightjar release we will be making our first inroad into Decentralized Autonomous Organizational governance models. Project DAOs will be able to upgrade their initial smart contracts through what is called “Direct DAO Governance”, meaning there will be basic constitution and rules for minimum of votes required for proposed smart contracts changes to be approved, so the DAOs could upgrade their own rules and make other decisions.
Nightjar will also introduce additional UX/UI and performance improvements.
As most of people in the world access the internet through their phones, instant messaging becomes the rapidly growing medium of communication. We see new form of interaction with services and products in form of chatbots. WINGS will employ this exciting new interaction in order to boost the engagement and the accessibility of projects for their token holders and inform them of the upcoming forecasting anvoting opportunities.
Additionally, during WINGS crowdfunding campaign we have developed a full featured bounty management application (which can be seen at https://bounty.wings.ai). The plan is to make this tool available to projects, enabling them to easily create and manage bounties, bootstrapping and building their own community and gathering supporters around the project.
Forecasting version 2 will include improvements to the current model by our scientist Serguei Popov, PhD and full professor of mathematics, who will create a new design based on how the system performs ensuring that the rewards model is as efficient as possible.
Smart Contracts version 2 will include additional options during campaign creation, for example and ability to distribute tokens over a period of time (aka “vesting”). Since everything right now is in an early stage, during the next 12 month we plan to gather feedback from the project creators and participants, incorporating their feedback into the system.
Chatbots version 2 will augment WINGS chatbots with machine learning capabilities, enabling people to leave their DAO decision making in the hands of the AI while they sit back and watch money literally dropping from the sky. Just kidding :). The idea is that enabling chatbots with machine learning capabilities will provide project participants with automated recommendations based on previous patterns. Whether this will result in money dropping from the sky is yet to be seen…
Well enough for roadmaps, head over to the WINGS alpha at https://alpha.wings.ai/#!/home/discover, create an account to try out some forecasting and funding. We’ll be giving away some prizes to the most interesting projects so we can use as many people as possible to provide feedback. One side-note, the system now is running on a single server which is both running the EVM, IPFS and NodeJS so sometimes there is a bit of lag as the data loads.
